Easter and soccer

We had a great Easter. It was very wet and damp in our area so we decided to hide the eggs inside. The kids had fun and D's mom and stepdad came up for egg hunting and for breakfast.

With all the rain this spring and our lack of patio our backyard is a mud pit. We hate looking at the mud but the kids have enjoyed playing in it. They get their mud boots on and play in it. This is Nathan after he fell in it. He was very upset, I thought it was halarious.



Nathan had his spring program at school and this year he did go up on stage. Last year he refused so we talked to him and threatened that he needed/wanted to go up on stage. He did it without too much convincing and he had a great time. He was so sweet. When he would see me he would shrug his shoulders at me like, "I guess up here and singing." He would also wave at me, it was so cute.




Lindsay has been an OK baby. She is sleeping really well at night. She is now consistently sleeping 6 hours in her bed and then 3 with me in our bed. A few nights she slept for 7 hours so that was great. She has also found her thumb so I think that has a lot to do with it. She only really finds it when she is sleeping in her bed so we have yet to get her to do it when she is fussing while not in her bed. She hates the pacy so the thumb or me are the only things that can really calm her down. She cries a little at night and it is mostly due to her being tired and not able to really go to sleep. I have started to put her in her bed while awake and for the most part she ends up going to sleep within 5 to 10 minutes. Usually in the later day that does not work and I end up wrapping her in the Moby wrap and she falls asleep. I know I will miss those times so I am trying to enjoy them even though I have other things to do and it would be easier to do them when I was not carrying her.

I took her to the doctor today for her 2 month visit and she weighs 11 lbs 15 oz and is 22.5 inches long. So she is growing well. She received her first set of shots so we were not thrilled with that. I always feel like those first set of shots makes her inpure. She lives such a pure existance up until she recived her shots. She is breastfed, cloth diapers and not a lot of impurities/preservatives in her. So it is just the beginning of her being acclimated to our society.


Soccer season has started in our household and everyone is participating. Nathan takes a unviersity soccer class on Sunday's and loves it. He loves wearing his shorts, shine guards and long socks. I took him for the first time yesterday and it was so funny to see. They mostly just play games and it is funny when it is his turn to get all the balls from other kids. He is very in to it. Also when others are chasing him he runs full speed. During the other times he just messes around with the ball and kind of acts like he does not know what is going on.

Julianne and her soccer team are doing well this season. The girls are getting better, and Julianne is getting more aggressive, is understanding the game, anticipates the next move well, and is having fun with the competition. I have enjoyed watching her grow and her games are actually really exciting.

-Mallory asked me why she could not marry your brother. She asked becaseu she told me that she wants to marry Nathan because she wants to play with him everyday. Oh so sweet.

Spring is slowly emerging in our area

We have been enjoying the warmer weather. The house is complete and we are just waiting for our patio to be installed. The house is great and the extra space is nice. We are excited about getting the patio in so that we can grill out and have neighbors over.

Nathan was asthma free for two months. We did not have any incidences in February or March but he had one last week. He helped D put down straw on our grass the day before so I don't know if this caused it or it was a coincidence. I slightly remember him going into a straw maze last fall and not having one after that. So who knows. I took a picture of him taking a treatment since I have never really taken a picture of him. You know that he thinks the medicine helps when he will let me put a mask on him for 10 minutes.


Here is my baby wearing Mallory. She loves to carry her and has gotten used to the Moby wrap.


I put a pillow on the floor with a burp cloth on it and laid Lindsay on it for a few minutes. About 30 minutes later I caught Mel laying the same way on the pillow that Lindsay was on it. So I had to take a picture.



These are our new baby squirrels. They live in our front tree which is practically dead.


Nathan loves to kick ball and every chance he gets he does. Here he is playing with our neighbor boy in his pajamas and his infamous rain boots.






Things I am grateful/thankful for:
-Sunshine and warmer weather
-sleeping with my 6 week old
-seeing the kids enjoy their "baby" by wanting to hold her, kiss her, change her diaper, etc.

Life with Lindsay

Well we are still around but a little bit more busy. Lindsay is such a calm peaceful baby. She rarely cries and only really when she wants to go to sleep. She is a great addition to our family and we are loving our time with her. The girls are amazing with her. Mallory is a little nurturing mother, she carries her around all the time and is great with calming her down. Julianne is also a great help and loves to be with her and take care of her new sister. Nathan is sweet with all his hugs and kisses even if they may be a little tight.

We survived having our first floors re-sanded. D took the girls skiing and I stayed at my sisters house with Nathan and Lindsay. It was great that we had a place to stay and we were comfortable. However, there is nothing like being back at home. The floors took three days longer so when the D and the girls came back we stayed at D's mom's house until they were done. They look great and it was definitely worth it. We have moved our carpets in and started to hang pictures. So it slowly looking like our house and not just an addition.




The Sunday before spring break the kids were running outside and getting onto the dumpster outside our house and Nathan cut his nose between his two nostril holes. At first we thought he maybe cut it while running but about a week later we learned that he was actually climbing on the dumpster and cut it because he slipped. So anyway we went to the Urgent Care and he received some glue to hold the skin together. We also learned that he a sinus infection because he received a head X-ray. So it figures we found out something else when we went in for one procedure.


We also had a chipmunk friend in our basement. I have seen him several times go in and out of the house from this crack in the foundation. So we had traps set and we finally caught him. So far I think it was only one friend and I have not heard anymore noises coming from the basement ceiling.


We received a lot of flowers from Lindsay's birth and when they were no longer thriving in a vase inside I put them outside to compost with the ground. The kids decided to turn it into their garden. So I had to take a picture of their creativity.

The kids have been collecting/playing with these Chinese erasers. They are supper small but have a lot of detail. So it was cute that they had them all laid out on the carpet. So I had to snap a shot.



Here is Mallory and her mothering skills. She just takes Lindsay and walks her around, shushes her and tries different positions to make her happy. Julianne and Mallory will also change her diaper as long as it is not too messy.



Here is Tucker cleaning Lindsay just like he does to Mel. My questions is who cleans Tucker? Poor Tucker, always taking care of others.



Here are my hand and foot shots. I am going to retake these because first of all the I did not change the white balance so the picture color is off. I corrected it in Lightroom but I can still tell. Additionally I am going to get the foot angle from the other side. I think it will look better. So stay tuned.



Lindsay in Nathan's bean bag chair. She actually really liked it. I think because it surrounds her and makes her feel confined.


Nathan loves his pajamas. He wants to be in them all the time. I think he really likes them because he does not wear underware and he loves to touch himself. So when he is in his pajamas he has easy access. :) I love the pajamas with the rain boots. Too cute.

Mallory finally lost her first front top tooth. She was very excited.

I am grateful/thankful for:
-Lazy days with the kids and Lindsay
-Getting through the first 6 weeks with Lindsay without loosing it.
-My time off work with the kids and organizing the house
-My great supportive husband who will hold Lindsay in the front pack for hours on end so that I can get stuff done or just not be in charge of her for awhile.
-Sleeping 4 hours at a time, as apposed to three or even two.
-My kids for adjusting so well to their new sibling.
